ARTIST STATEMENT

Ever since I can remember, I have been interested in the spiritual dimension of existence. Sacred painting and the creation of icons are a meditation, a way to the essence of myself. The traditional icon painting technique requires maximum focus and embedding in the present moment. The icon emanates what the author’s body and thoughts are saturated with. Immersing myself in silence, I seek inner light and pour it into material works.

I have found in the icon a language with which to communicate universal truths about humans and their connection to the Transcendent.
