Anna Kilyk was born in 1991 in Lviv \/ Ukraine. She is a painter specializing in sacral art. She currently lives and works in Szczecin. She graduated with honors from the Lviv National Academy of Fine Arts in 2014.<\/p>\n

From 2015 to 2019, she worked at St. Josaphat Orthodox Church the hometown, Stargard. Among other things, she is the author of the icons of the main row of the iconostasis, paintings in part of the presbytery, and sgraffito on the facade of the temple. In 2015-2018, she led an icon painting workshop in Wroclaw, organized by the Greek Catholic Parish of the Elevation of the Holy Cross. Her first personal exhibition entitled. ” Great Mystery” took place in 2017 in Stargard.<\/span><\/p>\n

The artist has collaborated with, among others. with The Greek Catholic Parish of Care of Our Lady in Szczecin, designing the future sgraffito; <\/span>The Greek Catholic Parish of the Elevation of the Holy Cross in Wroclaw, painting icons for the interior of the temple, and <\/span>The Parish of Our Lady of the Rosary (Witkowo Drugie); doing restoration of the Stations of the Cross. <\/span> <\/p>\n

Anna Kilyk’s work represents a distinctive style characterized by a passion for color and minimalism of form. It transforms traditional canons into a contemporary language. Her icons, often described as meditative and mysterious, provide insight into the artist’s artistic and spiritual sensibilities, inviting the viewer to immerse themselves in the world of the sacred.<\/p>\n

Anna Kilyk has participated in group exhibitions in Poland and abroad. <\/span><\/p>\n

Her works <\/span>are in private collections in Poland, Ukraine, Germany, Portugal and the United States.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>

ARTIST STATEMENT<\/b><\/p>\n

<\/b><\/p>\n

Ever since I can remember, I have been interested in the spiritual dimension of existence. <\/span>Sacred painting and the creation of icons are a meditation, a way to the essence of myself. The traditional icon painting technique requires maximum focus and embedding in the present moment. The icon emanates what the author’s body and thoughts are saturated with. Immersing myself in silence, I seek inner light and pour it into material works. <\/span><\/p>\n

I have found in the icon a language with which to communicate universal truths about humans and their connection to the Transcendent.<\/span><\/p>\n<\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div><\/div>
